Korean Drama "Moonlit Winter" is Now Available For Streaming Via Vivamax

A remarkable Korean drama of a young lady's bid for the happiness of her mother in Moonlit Winter is coming this July on Vivamax, from Viva International Pictures and MVP Entertainment.

Sae-bom is a senior high school student living with her mother, Yun-hee. Aside from seeing her suffer from depression brought by a recent divorce, she does not know much about her mom. One unusual day, she finds a letter for her mom from Japan, and she discovers a secret that has been kept for years.

For the past twenty years, Yun-hee has lost communication with her special friend, Jun. Yun-hee eventually marries someone, while Jun decides to leave with her father to Japan. But in all those years they were apart, they long to be with each other again.

With the letter as evidence of Yun-hee’s past gleeful relationship, Sae-bom encourages her to go on a vacation. Together, they go to a snowy place in Hokkaido, Japan, where Yun-hee’s estranged friend has been living with her old maiden aunt. Sae-bom has it all secretly planned to help her mother reunite with Jun.

Portraying the role of Sae-bom is Kim So-hye, a member of the K-pop group I.O.I. Yun-hee is played by Kim Hee-ae, famous for her lead roles in the top-rating television series Secret Love Affair (2014) and The World of the Married (2020).

Also starring, award-winning Japanese Actress Yuko Nakamura (Visitors, Strawberry Shortcakes) as Jun, and Sung Yu-bin (I Can Speak, Last Child) as Kyung-soo, Sae-bom’s boyfriend who also helped her in Japan.

Written and directed by award-winning director Lim Dae-hyung, Moonlit Winter is a heartwarming story of a mother-daughter relationship. With the beauty of the snow-field village of Otaru, Moonlit Winter offers warmth in finding one’s self and reconnecting with the shadow of the past, which then provides us courage to go on with our lives.
