Horsehoe Studios debuts the biggest film festival in our country with their official entry "OTLUM." It is directed by Joven Tan and highlights a class of upcoming and talented young stars who are all prepared to scare you starting this Christmas Day.

The film is led by Jerome Ponce who is not new in making horror films as he already starred in The Ghost Bride and MMFF entry Haunted Mansion in 2015. Alongside him is the basketball heart-rob Ricci Rivero, who played for the De La Salle Green Archers and also a pool member in the Gilas Pilipinas. In his debut film, he said that he really enjoyed the set and how Director Joven Tan makes him feel comfortable and let him learn a lot of things that he can't simply learn outside showbiz. He is also a self-confessed local film fan and is always excited to watch MMFF.  Asked if he immediately said yes to star in Otlum, his answer is that he wouldn't want the opportunity to pass especially that he is not yet busy with his basketball career, which is still his number-one priority.

Otlum also stars talented young stars Michelle Vito, Buboy Villar, Vitto Marquez, Kiray Celis, Ynigo Delen and introducing Danzel Fernandez with John Estrada, Irma Adlawan, Pen Medina and with the special participation of Jairus Aquino, Vivoree Esclito and Ping Medina.

Otlum which means multo or ghost is a story of wanting to be accepted, rejection and revenge.

Fred (Buboy Villar) has always wanted to feel like he belonged - and attention is the last thing he can expect from family and friends. He then meets a group of friends in campus, Allan (Jerome Ponce), Dindo (Ricci Rivero), Verna (Michelle Vito), Erwin (Vitto Marquez) and Caloy (Danzel Fernandez), a mix of spoiled and nice students whose personalities will clash on how they will treat Fred who is desperate to be part of their group. The group led by Allan despite the strong disapproval by Dindo decided to take fried in one condition - he has to go through an initiation.

Fred is posed with a simple challenge - stay inside an old, abandoned orphanage in one night. It sounds easy until Fred discovers that he is inexplicably stuck inside the orphanage and there's no way out.

The abandoned orphanage having a deep dark story in the past - the group are not sparred with a bunch of problems coming their way. With OTLUMS out in revenge roaming around the abandoned orphanage, the mysteries are just waiting to be uncovered.
