Paint the Cinemas Orange this Christmas Day with "THE GIRL IN THE ORANGE DRESS"
By: Matt Suzara
Would it be biased to say that this is one of the entries in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival that I am really looking forward to see first, as the concept alone already caught my attention plus a bubbly cast to carry it all the way. I admit; I've been a big fan of Jericho Rosales since day one and follow all his teleserye and films he made. He is one of those charismatic stars who can carry a film whoever he is paired with and a great man on and off the camera. We labeled him as one of the best leading men in this generation, and you can't really tell his age without looking into google for answers.
Like, Juan Miguel Severo said last night, Quantum Films has brought us a lot of quality films through the years and decent entries for MMFF. You've got English Only Please and Walang Forever to name a few and this all came up big in the box-office plus warm reception from the Filipino audience.
Their latest offering is The Girl in the Orange Dress, which is their official entry for this year's Metro Manila Film Festival. It features the team up of Jericho Rosales and Jessy Mendiola, who are both excited to let the Filipino fans to watch their film first starting Christmas Day.
It is written and directed by Jay Abello, who actually told us that he has seen the film in the editing room many times already, but still he is mesmerized each time and as a number one critic of all his films - he praises that The Girl in the Orange Dress might be his best film yet. This also marks his first MMFF entry, and he is not new in handling Jericho Rosales and Nico Antonio, as he both worked with them already in Cinema One Original Entry Red in 2014.
The whole cast is asked on what is their crazy hangover moments, and these were their funny answers during the blogcon yesterday:
Synopsis: Rye Del Rosario (Jericho Rosales) is a big movie star who is getting fed with all the limelight in his showbiz career. One night, he meets a girl in an orange dress at a party and ends up in his hotel room spending a night together. That girl is Ana (Jessy Mendiola) who doesn't remember a thing on what happened last night. With the media following every step they make, can the two escape the spotlight and maybe change their world together?
The film also stars Ria Atayde, Sheena Halili, Juan Miguel Severo, Nico Antonio and Hanna Ledesma.
