You can also check this post to check if your guesses are right in our contest. This list is based on our own opinion you can also drop down your best movies at the comment section below. 10. TiktiK: The Aswang Chronicles TiktiK: The Aswang Chronicles grabs the 10th spot and the sole Filipino film on our list. Maybe the coolest Tagalog film in terms of special visual effects. It's awesome and entertaining hoping for a sequel and hope that the Aswangs could call some reinforcements (zombies maybe?).  9. Hotel Transylvania Adam Sandler really convinces us that he is Count Dracula. Hotel Transylvania is filled with fun and colorful characters with a really charming story about father & daughter relationship. This is one of the three animated films that easily entered our list. 8. Perks of Being a Wallflow

Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako: Movie Review

Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako By: Lakwatsera Lovers We admit that a lot of people are sick and tired of the Enteng Kabisote films every year. But you still can't take away the effort of bringing some fresh new characters and tons of laughter to every moviegoer that love  this franchise especially the kids. We watched last night and what we see is a lot of family and kids unite to watch it. Still the formula of fantasy comedy movies connects to its audience that brings entertainment which we think is very important. Agimat (Bong Revilla Jr.) already proposed to Samara (Sam Pinto) so they can both start a happy family. He goes to Enteng Kabisote (Vic Sotto) to ask for help and tries to apply what he can learn with the Kabisote Family. While Ako (Judy Anne Santos) a high tech fairy from the Kingdom of Diwatara crosses the path of the two making their wives very uncomfortable. But with an impending threat caused by aliens, together they must join forces and set a

Short DVD Reviews: 5 Horror Suspense Movies

Short DVD Reviews: 5 Horror Suspense Movies By: Lakwatsera Lovers It's Christmas Season and what a way to celebrate it by watching horror movies at home. We watched five flicks and we're going to give their grades whether they pass or not. Silent Night Directed By: Steven Miller A killer Santa Clause is really cool thinking that he has flame thrower and an ax instead of gifts. And he's killing all the people on his naughty list. The sad thing is this psycho Santa is pretty lame in his violent acts except when he threw a girl inside a wood chipper machine alive.  Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 4 out of 10 stars Deer Crossing Directed By: Christian Grillo Except for the promising poster this film is full of crap. It pretty much annoyed the hell out of us on what's really happening in this flick. It also looked dragging and the characters are boring. This will just waste your time.  Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 0 out of 10 stars ATM Directed B

DVD Review: Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines

Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines By: Lakwatsera Lovers Wrong Turn hits its fifth installment where the franchise is having more idiotic characters but the killing spree continues to get nastier and bloodier than ever.  A group of friends travels to a small town in West Virginia to experience the legendary Mountain Man Festival on Halloween. When Maynard (Doug Bradley) and his three cannibal hillbillies decided to treat themselves and started to have a bloodbath in the town.     If you enjoyed other Wrong Turn movies there's nothing to worry about with bloodlines. The body count rises and the brutal scenes reached into another level. Though the characters and the victims are getting stupider than ever. You'll simply won't care about them and you'll just wish to see them get killed in the most sarcastic way.  It's just really funny how the hillbillies reach the victims so fast in every scene. Another thing is the town scenes really looked a studio built with chea

The Bay: Movie Review

The Bay By: Lakwatsera Lovers The Bay is the last SM Cinexclusive this year which you can avail a 50% discount by using your SM E-Plus card. Director Barry Levinson admitted that 80 percent of the movie is based on true facts.  On July 4, 2009 people are celebrating when the people of Claridge Maryland was swept with a deadly viral outbreak. Reporter Donna Thompson (Kether Donohue) talks in Skype and reveals a collection of hidden footage on what happened that day that claimed over 700 lives which was never been told. Thinking the movie is based on facts it still lack the tension it should offer. What we like about is they made it look so real and disgusting which we found really cool. Though the pacing of the movie was slow and it is really boring at some point. Some might find it scary but some won't take this film seriously especially that this happened in the US. With found footage horror movies succeeding nowadays The Bay used that same formula but like a pu

Breaking the Monotony: Kids Meet Day and Night Dengue-Lamok in School

Learning empowers students to lead, create and change. As society changes and evolves, education rewards students with new lessons, improve their knowledge and in time prep them to bigger challenges and responsibilities. It will certainly be more stimulating and effective if students are given a break from the usual listen-to-lectures and take-pop-quizzes learning styles. To break the monotony, a totally different and daring learning strategy may well interest students to pay attention and learn more.  School children can’t hide their excitement as Daytime Dengue Lamok and Nighttime Dengue Lamok mingle and dance with them.   This is the very essence of the Green Cross School Crashers campaign. Recently launched in most Metro Manila schools, the Green Cross School Crashers is Green Cross’ pioneering school initiative to bring proactive information about day and night dengue lamok. With majority of dengue cases involving children below 10 years of age, it is crucial for kids

DVD Review: Smiley

Smiley By: Lakwatsera Lovers A low budgeted slasher flick that's really hard to ignore because of an intriguing poster. Smiley has the elements to give out some scares and excitement but just failed to capitalize handling out a huge disappointment.  Ashley (Caitlin Gerard) is a college freshman witness Smiley kills various people in random chat room. Smiley is a killer who can be summoned if you type the phrase “I did it for the lulz”  three times. Intrigued she and her friend (Melanie Papalia) tried it at home if the urban legend is real. Learning that Smiley exists Ashley is  now being paranoid that she might be the next victim.  Smiley forgot one thing that is important in a thriller movie, to give some chills to its audience. Aside from it you just simply can't take the actors seriously with their very lousy acting. Plus the fact that the killer only stab his victim with a knife in the dullest way possible. Another catch is that the twist in the end annoys us
