DVD Review: Seeking Justice

DVD Review: Seeking Justice By: Lakwatsera Lovers Will Gerard is a high school English teacher who had a normal life with her beautiful wife Laura (January Jones). But his life became complicated when his wife was raped and assaulted. He made a deal with a sinister underground organization that's into dealing vigilante justice. Will got his revenge but he needs to pay a price by returning a big favor for the organization. Actually this is pretty decent action thriller with full of twist and mystery in to the story. With Cage character gets into a lot of complicated scenarios and gets into a lot of chases with this underground syndicate. The film stays in a high pace handling out a puzzling outcome towards the end. We may say that this movie was way better than the past two films of Cage we watched ( Trespass & Ghost Rider: The Spirit of Vengeance) surprisingly this movie did not had a theatrical release. With Guy Pearce and January Jones providing a good support

In less than two years, all of 1,045 units of Avida Towers Cebu are now sold out. Avida Towers Cebu: sold out in just 18 months CEBU PROVES ITSELF TO BE A ROBUST real estate market for Avida, as shown by buyers’ response to Avida Towers Cebu. Launched only in June 2010, units have been selling at a brisk pace—and now, in less than two years, all of 1,045 units of Avida Towers Cebu are now sold out. “ More than anything, we see the sell out of Avida Towers Cebu as a testament to the trust and confidence of Cebuanos in the Ayala brand. Ayala Land is an established developer in Cebu and with Avida being part of the Ayala Group, Cebuanos rightly believe that owning an Avida Towers Cebu unit is a sound investment. Beyond the brand strength, we also see that the location, features and amenities offered by Avida Towers Cebu were well appreciated by our buyers. We are glad that our commitment to creating quality homes at affordable prices, which translated to Avida Towers Cebu has been re

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close: Movie Review

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close By: Lakwatsera Lovers Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is another inspirational movie that tackles about a child dealing with his emotions after the loss of his father in the 9/11 attack. It is also one of the Best Picture Oscar Nominee this year that would probably inspire other people or disappoint them. Thanks to the Sam and Gibb Show for the special advance screening tickets we won on their show. Oskar (Thomas Horn) is a young boy who believes that his father left him a message hidden in the city, before he died in the 9/11 attack. After he found a mysterious key in his father's closet he started to search for people who's last name is Black and ask them some questions if they knew his father. Beyond that search he met a lot of people and learned a greater understanding about the world around him. The film was too long and has a slow paced storyline. Though Thomas Horn provided a good grip in his character making it

DVD Review: Bunraku

DVD Review: Bunraku By: Lakwatsera Lovers Couple of months back I saw the trailer of Bunkaru at yahoo movies getting me excited to watch it in the big screen, but last week when I entered the video store I was surprised to see that it already came out on a DVD release.  A mysterious drifter (Josh Hartnett) and a Japanese warrior, Yoshi (Gackt) both arrived in a town that has been terrorized by extreme criminals. Both men has their own mission and guided by the wise bartender (Woody Harrelson). Both of them agreed to team up and stop the evil ways of the "Wood Cutter" (Ron Perlman) which is the root of their problems.  With a variety of good actors and interesting characters Bunraku is a cool movie to watch. Though the setting felt like a small stage filled with bright lights the film was full of non stop action scenes. Include the mission, facing ten deadly assassins before facing the boss, it felt like your playing a video game. I can compare it with Scott Pilgrim Vs

Jack and Jill: Movie Review

Jack and Jill By: Lakwastera Lovers With Adam Sandler in this comedy flick we automatically thought that the movie would be twice as funny from his previous films.  But the formula did not work out as this was nothing compared to his other movies. Jack (Adam Sandler) is a successful ad executive living with his wife, Erin (Katie Holmes) and two kids. But every Thanksgiving her twin sister Jill (Adam Sandler) always pays a visit to his family which he really don't like as they both can't get along. But this year Jill wants to stay longer making much mess than the usual  Jack and Jill was just terribly made, the jokes was not funny and we really can't believe that this is an Adam Sandler movie. One of our favorite comedy actor that made us enjoy Click, 50 First Dates and Grown Ups. Now we were thinking what happened to this movie? Safe to say that this is the worst film made by Adam Sandler. Jill is annoying, Katie Holmes was barely felt and  the only fun

Unofficially Yours : Movie Review

Unofficially Yours By: Lakwatsera Lovers Just can't wait to see the most talk about movie this love month. It is the second week of this film and the theater is jam packed as if we were still watching a premiere night. And yes it is OFFICIAL that this movie already reached the 100 million mark in just a week.  Mackie (John Llyod Cruz) met Cez (Angel Locsin) in a beach where they had a one night hook-up. Surprisingly they met again in his new job in the Manila Bulletin. Both agreed to have a no commitment relationship that only intends to have fun. But soon Mackie fall in love with Cez which leads into complication because Cez is still hurt from her past relationship and afraid to take the risk in getting hurt again.  We really loved the movie, it's like a Filipino version of  Friends with benefits starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis but Unofficially Yours had a different attack that leads to a lot of fun and cheerful scenes. The leads were at the top of

Why Avida is a staunch advocate of OPM

TUNOG NATIN OPM ARTISTS AND AVIDA EXECUTIVES show their unity in the effort to preserve and build on the legacy of Original Pilipino Music during the album launch of "Tunog Natin: Songs From Home", an all-OPM album that gives a fresh sound to OPM classics as well as original tracks. Why Avida is a staunch advocate of OPM ORIGINAL PILIPINO MUSIC (OPM) is the soundtrack of our lives. That’s something many Filipinos easily take for granted—but just think: what better way to feel hope and inspiration than to hear “Umagang Kay Ganda” in the morning? How could we express romantic love if we didn’t have “Harana”? Knowing that OPM is a vital part of Filipino culture and identity, Avida Land Corp. is doing its part to keep original Filipino music alive, meaningful and relevant to a new generation of Filipinos. Aside from providing families with quality, affordable homes, Avida is fully supporting OPM-related projects. Two of these projects are the “Tunog Natin!” series o

This Means War: Movie Review

This Means War By: Lakwatsera Lovers Been waiting a long time for this movie, from the very first time we saw the trailer we actually know this would be good. This Means War did a pretty good job in making our night memorable. Tuck (Tom Hardy) and FDR (Chris Pine) are best buddies and working as top CIA agents. They friendship turns into a competition when they both fell in-love with Lauren (Reese Witherspoon). With both man swearing to fight fair in winning her heart, the two used their special skills and techniques leading the match up in the most hilarious tactics for the name of love. Lauren has no idea that the two know each other and would lead her into a epic rivalry of the two. No doubt about that this is the best movie we watched this year putting it on top of my list. This film was entertaining from start to finish. A lot of hilarious scenes that gets better and better. The chemistry between the leads are perfect with Reese Witherspoon, charming as ever com

Hugo: Movie Review

Hugo By: Lakwatsera Lovers Read a lot of positive reviews about the film and it is an Oscar nominee this year so we decided to watch it. Mainly released in 3D, Martin Scorsese made a brilliant film that was taken out from his childhood memories reliving what he had in the past.  Hugo Cabret (Asa Butterfield) was a young boy full of dreams living with his father (Jude Law), a clockmaker. One day his father brings home a broken automaton, which they promised to repair it. Then his father died in accident forcing him to live with his drunkard Uncle Claude that lives in a railway station where he is responsible in taking care of the clocks. Hugo was desperate to repair the automaton where he steals some parts to an old man (Ben Kingsley) that leads him in meeting Isabelle (Chloe Moretz). Soon both of them worked together and repaired the machine and found out the treasured secrets about the origins of the cinemas. It is really a good film, with a mysterious story that feels
